WIP plotting post process

There are a number of Dualis citizens that may or may not be doubles, that's to be decided. But they all have information that leads to the identity of the person behind the deaths and the drug sales.

I'm giving some tertiary information about them to begin with, but just let me know how your character would get to them, how they'd attempt to approach them, and I'll tell you what they do and what you can find out. For example, if they followed them along the rooftops and then slipped into the shadows of their apartment to talk to them, I'll say whether they noticed them or if they up and pooed their pants in surprise. If they confronted them in Premium Foods, would anyone dangerous show up. If you want to do a thread with an NPC (busting up a bunch of goons, waiting for them to come into a bar, following them as they go about their errands and having a pal to talk with), just let me know. They're background flavoring for later use. Also tell me what your character will do with the information given to them.

Aella Hall

Aella is a former U.S. marine circa 2007. She was lucky in that her husband, another military man, joined her here. He was one of the recent victims, discovered after having been missing for two full weeks. He had only died a few days before discovery so chances are he spent much of that time in captivity being pumped for information.

Her apartment is nice and well kept, with a lot of handmade furniture bought from crafters in the city. There's a little patio garden with lots of vegetables. She's bitter and angry about what's happened with her husband, and to anyone that questions her she'll tell them whatever she knows. That she didn't know of any ties that he would have, but it's possible that he did. If he kept something it wasn't where she could find it, but someone tried to pick the lock to her door.

She'll tell anyone questioning her that she wants the people responsible torn apart.

Samuel-13

Samuel was assaulted by three different assailants outside of the industrial complex where he worked. If someone is capable of connecting him to some sort of monitor or display or if they can interface with him, he can show them the scenario from their entire point of view.

They tore off hunks of his skin like they were looking for something. The were wearing all black, and he managed to get one of their masks off. As an android he was able to record the event in perfect detail, and can even mimic the voices of the people if he's just talking about it. They attempted to break him but weren't technologically capable.

He comes off as generally emotionless but will be hesitant to allow anyone to touch him and will want the person talking to him to verify their identity.

Lily Prince

Lily is happy, sweet, and on the surface nothing but a giver. She adores her boyfriend, with whom she shares an apartment that looks like it came directly out of a magazine ad. There are no pictures of him around the apartment, though, just of her and her family. There are items of his here and there- mail. Men's sized shoes. A coat in the closet. Notes on a refrigerator whiteboard that don't match her handwriting. He's taken great pains to make sure his picture is nowhere.

Recently her friend Ursula went missing and she's been distraught with grief, worried about what could be happening to her friend. Lily will dwell on this unless she's stressed into talking more about the mysteriously absent boyfriend. It's not exactly honorable, considering she can't fight and that she's unarmed. She can also be stressed verbally.

Reynaldo Cade Ind.

Reynaldo is a farming model robot, something that lasted well into an apocalypse and continued his duties until brought to Dualis. He curates some rooftop gardens here, continuing his work. This put him in a prime position to have seen one of the murders.

He knows who ordered the killing, too, because one of the perps said her name. But MaMa's reputation preceded her and he's terrified of mentioning that he knows anything. He's afraid to go on record with the information. His memory is also unreliable; he's so old that sometimes he lags or resets mid-conversation and has to rehash details.

Louis Sutton

Louis is a thug for MaMa, having participated in several of the attacks (including the one on Samuel) and finally had enough of her. He's also terrified of her, and getting him to tell where she is is difficult. He's not shown up at his 'official' job as being a deliveryman for weeks.

Currently, he will say that MaMa is threatening to kill his daughter. Unfortunately, Louis can't remember what she looks like because of his criminal record in Dualis: he's had his memory erased four times. This hasn't fixed him at all, of course. If anything it's made him less compassionate, more detached, and a lot more confused. He can, however, remember having adored his baby girl.

If anyone asks people that used to know him, though, or dig into her blackmail sources they'll discover that MaMa is lying to him, and his daughter was never even in Dualis. She's taking advantage of the gaps in his memory.

Roman Ross

Roman is paranoid and egotistical. He'll always be watching his back and cautious. He worked for the Malakye Family for a long time, but found their methods too coddling. He felt like they didn't appreciate his skills or give him enough leniency, so he went to work for MaMa very willingly. He's complicit in supporting everything she's done wholeheartedly.

Hacking his computer would yield a lot of good info. He's collected a lot of the blackmail information on other people, including people actively resisting the Head. The collected incriminating evidence is meant to convince them to join the organization. This means turning over his info in an official capacity could out some future allies, but it would also make you look especially loyal to the Head.

Chora

Chora was a former alien bounty hunter from a warrior race. She had an impressive reputation, all the ladies she could ever want, and a sense of honor and respect for other fighters.

MaMa blackmailed her into working for her when she found details on her trying to resist the Head, turning her into an enforcer and brutal protector for her product. MaMa respects her strength but remains suspicious of her, and since Chora has recently seemed very displeased with her she's decided to have her followed by an assassin. Chora knows this.

Depending on how she's approached by someone, she may be killed outright or she may survive long enough to fight and talk (or maybe even run away). If she does survive, she can give thorough details on MaMa's security. If she's killed, a few clues with be scattered loosely through her messy apartment.

Ursula Stafford

Ursula Stafford was Lily's missing friend. When Lily's boyfriend crossed MaMa by losing a good quantity of product, Lily helpfully pointed the finger at Ursula as having stolen it. She lied not only to protect him, but to get Ursula out of the picture because he and Ursula were also close friends and he seemed to be attracted to her.

MaMa learned the truth of what the boyfriend did and where the missing drugs went, and then she had him killed. Lily doesn't know this yet, but Ursula witnessed it.

She'll say what she knows if whoever's speaking with her will tell her family that she's dead/help fake her death. Her family misses her a great deal and are legitimately good people, but Ursula feels like her connections have ruined their lives, and she doesn't want any of MaMa's agents to find them. She's sure it would happen even if she were taken out of power.

Felix Collins

A hero of the Dualis PD, Felix is known for busting hundreds of cases. He has a roguish, friendly quality and a good sense of humor and a lot of friends. He's also been covering her paper trail and giving her hot tips to pick up goods or clearing location or the names of marks. Whether they're dealers, suppliers, or people with chemical skin or thirium blood or vampire blood.

He doesn't get material or monetary compensation. Instead MaMa throws people under the bus for him; if she doesn't like someone, she gives him what he needs to bring them in. So his arrest and conviction record has become remarkable. He was an average officer, but now he's bringing in all kinds of culprits and building a reputation.

He's editted some Dualis PD records, so information on him might be inaccurate and inconsistent.

As for the game's overarching plot, players can ask the mods if they can find anything in their research (I asked if Hank could find some additional hiding spots).
